The Cairnwood Wedding of Stefania and Tim

Cairnwood is like a second home to most of us here at Cutting Edge, and what a privilege that is. On Sept. 7th of 2013 I had the pleasure of sharing the Cairnwood Estate, giving way to the new husband and wife team, Stefania and Tim. They were an absolute pleasure to work with while planning for their big day. They had some fairly specific ideas of what they wanted… fun and upbeat, with no boring moments. I filled in the blanks from there.

The ceremony commenced outside with the mansion serving as the backdrop to their vows being exchanged. While they wanted the ceremony music to be elegant, they did not want their processional and recessional music to be boring or traditional. Together, we selected some music during our planning to include orchestral versions of artists they like. Red Hot Chili Peppers “Soul to Squeeze” performed in strings accompanied the bridal party procession. I must say, one of the coolest ways for a bride to arrive at the beginning of the isle was done at this party. Being a car guy, seeing Stefania step out of her grandfather’s bright blue custom 50’s hot rod had my jaw drop. The song “1,000 Years” was played as she made her way down the aisle, and The White Stripes “We Are Going To Be Friends” was played for their recessional after they shared their first big smooch as husband and wife.

As the guests moved inside for the wedding cocktail hour, we washed the walls with our ever popular LED up lights in a blue hue that gave Cairnwood that extra bit of ambiance. Guests enjoyed their cocktails and funneled into the great hall for introductions of the bridal party and watch our Bride and Groom take their first dance to “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac (another great selection).

Dinner was accompanied by mellow contemporary Top 40 selections along with some Classic Rock and mob hits to keep the music variety up. The courses went by quickly and soon everyone packed into the library to get the floor shaking. Shake it did, as Stefania and Tim’s wedding guests jammed from the first song to the last. We played everything from Motown and “Old School” to the current Billboard hits that had everyone pumping their fists to.

The awesome pictures from Rachel Beck Photography tell the rest of story and captured some great moments between Stefania and Tim. As always, Karen’s Catering made sure the food was delicious and the timing impeccable to keep the party flowing smoothly and giving me as much time as possible for guests to work their meals off by getting down on the dance floor. Their wedding is one of the many reasons why I love being a DJ!”

Tim and Stefania, thanks for choosing me as your Wedding DJ, and I wish you all the best in your future as husband and wife.
