Jessica and Seth’s Wedding with a “Twist”

This past summer I had some amazing weddings I will not soon forget, and on June 30th, 2012 I had the opportunity to DJ a wedding at The Lake House Inn which will always stand out in my mind. There are many reasons why this was a particularly memorable event for me. The number one reason has to be, because of the bride and groom, Jessica and Seth. After doing tons of wedding receptions, I believe that the guests that stay all the way to the end are the ones who love you the most. I cannot begin to tell you all the parties I have attended as a guest or where I was the Wedding DJ that began with hundreds of guests, and by the time the event was nearly over was left with only twenty-five people.  This was one of those that ended with as many people as it started with, and as much as I would like to take all of the credit for that, I have to admit that the bride and groom have a great deal to do with that sort of success.

The second reason this wedding is memorable is because one of the guests – who happened to be a good friend of the bride’s family – was none other than Chubby Checker. For those who don’t know, Philadelphia native Chubby Checker is most famous for “The Twist” and “Let’s Twist Again”, two songs that have stood the test of time, and began a dance trend (The Twist) that still packs the dance floors to this day. I have seen thousands of people do the “Twist” and countless parties, but they all pale in comparison to when the originator takes to the dance floor showing everyone how it’s really done.

The third reason this wedding will be forever remembered (which is really just more of my first reason), is how awesome this crowd was. It always seems like the best weddings go way too fast. From the very beginning when I played the “Hora” to the very end when “The Time” from the Black Eyed Peas, every guest was dancing. This wedding and this crowd would have been any DJ’s dream, and I am very grateful I got to be a part of it’s success and share in Jessica and Seth’s special day.

I also want to thank Emily and Cassidy from Wren and Field Photography. Every time a client mentions they are using them as their photographers I grin from ear to ear, because I know I will get a chance to showcase their awesome images on our blog. Also thanks to Anthia from Jeffrey Miller Catering and the entire staff at the Lake House Inn for being amazing. I have worked at this venue about a dozen times over the past few years, and look forward to doing many more events there in the future.

A few weeks after the wedding Jessica was nice enough to post the following testimonial on the Wedding Channel website:

Richie Abrams was an amazing DJ! Our guests are still commenting on how good the music was at our event. He played music that everyone could enjoy and had everyone on the dance floor the entire night! Richie and Cutting Edge made our wedding very memorable!

Congratulations to Jessica and Seth!!
