John and Jennifer’s I.S.M. Wedding

This season was one of the busiest I’ve ever had, and I wanted to give a shout-out to an amazing couple that I recently got the chance to work with. On Saturday, October 9, 2010 I had the privilege of being the DJ for the wedding of Jennifer and John at the Independence Seaport Museum. They were a great couple to work with.

Andrew, from I.S.M., made sure that everything was perfect for the bride and groom. I also got to work with Alison from Freckle Photography and we went over all of their details pre-reception to make sure the evening went seamlessly. We had amazingly beautiful weather for their ceremony overlooking the Delaware River and Philadelphia skyline. It started with their children walking down the aisle, smiling from ear to ear, and so did the happy couple as they exchanged their wedding vows.

When I first spoke with Jennifer, she was very specific about what she did and did not want. In fact, in her email, she said “I’m not a Bridezilla, I just want to have a good party atmosphere.” They wanted a laid back party with lots of fun and dancing and did they do that. She sent me her timeline and she had every step of the evening carefully planned and didn’t miss a detail. Jennifer also sent her playlist over to me and I could tell at that moment that this was going to be a fun party. Jennifer had great music selections all the way through. The best part of the evening was the sing along set that Jennifer and John had wanted. From Bon Jovi, to Meatloaf, to Neil Diamond, the guests just kept singing and dancing along with the great tunes. John wanted more of the country songs so we worked them in during dinner, while Jennifer and John’s children wanted to hear some of the newer stuff to dance to later on in the evening. They were great, and their son Dalton hung out with my DJ Steve and I, checking out what was going on behind the scenes and playing guest DJ.

From start to finish, everyone had an amazing time. All of the staff was a pleasure to work with. Alison from Freckle Photography did an amazing job at capturing some of the highlights of the evening. It was our first time working together but we were on the same page the entire evening and she was a true professional. I.S.M. does an amazing job as well, with the facility offering a beautiful view for a ceremony and a lot of history to check out before you even get into the party room.

To Jennifer and John, I (along with the entire Cutting Edge family which you are now a part of), wish you many years of health and happiness. Congratulations to the both of you!

~Marc
