Amy and Andrew’s wedding reception was held on Saturday, October 24th at the Dupont Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware, and they chose Cutting Edge Entertainment provide the DJ and music. We’ve done a lot of parties and events at the Dupont Country Club, and looking at our upcoming calendar of events, it looks like we have many more in the future.
I met with Amy and Andrew a few weeks prior to their wedding. We call this meeting the ‘wrap-up meeting”, because it’s where we go over all the final details with the couple regarding their wedding reception, and the role we are expected to play. We help to build an entire timeline with the client to plan the exact order of the formalities, while we review their music selections with them as well. Each wedding is different and it is very important that we take the time to get to know the bride and groom, in order to best serve them. To learn what kind of music they like, and more importantly which kinds they don’t like. One of my goals for each wedding I do is to make sure I give the bride and groom the reception that they have envisioned. This is a big day in both of their lives, and I make it my mission to make their wedding even better than they imagined.
Once we made the formal introductions, the bride and groom took the center stage for their first dance as husband and wife, and once the formalities ended, dinner was brought out by the DuPont Country Club’s staff. As the DJ, I’m always please to see well-fed guests, as this group was going to need their energy, because once dinner was over it’s time to celebrate. Like most of my weddings, this was a great group who were out on the dance floor all night, singing along while I played “I Want You Back” by the Jackson Five, and twisting the night away with “The Twist” by Chubby Checker, and of course playing plenty of fun Hip Hop music. A great party with only one negative side effect at the end… a lot of sore feet; quite common when dancing for two hours straight.
The bride and groom were wonderful to work with. They are blessed to have a multitude of family and friends that love to dance, which made the party a great time for all. Of course it’s always a privilege to work at the Dupont Country Club. The photographer was the very awesome Paul Pruitt Photography. Finally, a big thank you to Amy and Andrew for having us DJ the wedding. Congratulations, and all the best!
A few weeks after the wedding the bride was nice enough to post the following testimonial on Wedding Wire…
My husband, Andrew, and I used Richie Abrams with Cutting Edge Entertainment for our wedding at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE on October 24, 2015. We were absolutely thrilled with our decision!
Richie and the team at Cutting Edge Entertainment are professional, available, and so much fun! I am still hearing from our guests about how much fun they had at our wedding! Andrew and I heard about their company through multiple wedding websites, and after a phone call with Richie we were sold. Richie made the process easy and was available for questions at any time. He was very accommodating of our requests and needs. For our package, we chose to use Cutting Edge Entertainment for our DJ services, photobooth, uplighting, and GoBo design. The fact that their company had a package that included all of these was amazing!
Richie kept our guests dancing with a seamless transition of music to please every age. Andrew and I were literally on the dance floor all night enjoying the music with out guests! The photobooth was probably the biggest hit with out guests, the attendants told my parents they almost ran out of film because it was being used so much! The uplighting set the mood in such a romantic way and the GoBo design was exactly what we wanted.
I would recommend any bride-to-be and groom-to-be to go with Cutting Edge Entertainment. The DJ services is a huge part of the wedding reception. They keep the party going with all of the events and music. Richie absolutely made our special day amazing!
