Matt and Michelle’s Cairnwood Wedding

I pride myself at being cool, calm, and collected, which, as a Wedding DJ, are often invaluable traits.

It was beautiful Saturday afternoon at the gorgeous Carinwood Mansion.  I met had Michelle and Matt at Cairnwood only a week before, in the spot where they were now preparing to exchange vows. Like most people, their schedules were hectic, especially when planning a wedding is involved, and we went over most of the evening’s music and agenda.  However, there were certain songs they needed more time to get approvals on from the rest of the family.  Michelle and Matt are thankfully much like I am… Cool, calm, and collected, and together, we sorted out a few last minute details and changes only minutes it was time for the ceremony to begin.  With the advancements in technology these days, it is amazing the amount of flexibility a Wedding DJ has available to them to be able to handle any changes quickly – particularly when it comes to music.

Michelle and Matt’s friends arrived early as we brought it all together, and from their energy level, I could tell this crowd was ready to party while friends and family started to gather outside for the ceremony. We provided the officiant with a microphone and speaker so the large group of guests would all be able to hear the vows. Following Matt and Michelle’s big kiss, all of the guests filed into the mansion to enjoy some cocktails accompanied by some current easy listening and some jazz classics to keep the upbeat vibe going.

As we introduced the bridal party into the room and Michelle and Matt took their first dance as husband and wife, the sun began to go down and the excitement began to build. After dinner we moved into the library where we got everybody out onto the dance floor.  Starting off with some oldies but goodies, we quickly got into the new pop music and some sing-a-long’s which guests – both young and younger – sang and danced along with. Matt and his buddies had a song they all loved from their college days, which I played, and soon the music was overpowered by their voices singing along.  The dance floor stayed packed and people continued to sweat until the last song was played.

In my years as a Wedding DJ, I usually say the best ones are when you can physically feel the floor rocking.  Matt and Michelle’s wedding rocked that much and more!  A few days after their party I received this thank you from them…

Thank you so very much for all that you have done to ensure our wedding would go off without a hitch.  You are clearly not only very talented at what you do but you have been so great to work with!  We really appreciate your time and patience with us!

Thanks Again,

Mish and Matt

To Mish and Matt, I wish you both the best and will continue to remember your wedding reception as a very high benchmark.
