Not even sure where to begin, so I’ll start off by saying that Sara and Evan were awesome in every way imaginable, and as a couple planning their wedding, they were just an absolute pleasure to work with.
Being an “out-of-town” couple (they reside in Los Angeles), they were in constant communication with me via email months prior to their wedding. The wrap-up meeting we usually do several weeks prior to the wedding was done months before in this case due to the face that they weren’t living here, and had to do things when they were in town. Both Sara and Evan kept me abreast of any changes on a regular basis, and I’d even go so far as to say we became friends through the planning process.
The reception was held at The Loews Hotel in Philadelphia, which is by far one of my favorite spots in the city to work. The team at The Loews really do a phenomenal job, and are always accommodating to their wedding clients. When it all came together, The Loews Philadelphia’s team really did a great job.
The wedding was held in Philadelphia because it’s Sara’s home town, ans I was amazed at how many of their L.A. friends and family flew across the country, and came ready to party. From the close of cocktail hour, it was as if it was non-stop dancing. The plan was to seat the guests for their courses, but it seemed as if they ate quickly simply to get back to dancing and partying. It was truly a dream crowd for a Wedding DJ.
I think the most significant factor in the success of a wedding reception – from the perspective of the Wedding DJ – is having the bride and groom involved and out there dancing. The guests want to be where the bride and groom are, and Sara and Evan hardly left the dance floor, and their guests surrounded them in celebration of their wedding day. They were a fun couple, with fun friends and family, and they definitely came to party… Which they did from beginning to end.
Thank you Sara and Evan for the opportunity to take part in your wedding day, for choosing me as your Wedding DJ, and for making my job so fun. You were (and are) the perfect couple. I wish you all the luck and happiness you both deserve in you future together.
