Tia’s Sweet Sixteen at The Manor House

Sweet 16 Philadelphia

As one of Cutting Edge Entertainment’s main wedding MCs, I usually don’t often get the chance to do other types parties. When I got call from Carolann – a very excited mom – regarding her daughter Tia’s Sweet Sixteen, it turned out that I was available, and after talking to her on the phone for a while, I was happy to take on this event. I don’t get to do as many Sweet Sixteens as I used to, and I was pretty psyched. A few weeks before the party I spoke to Carolann, who let me in on the big plans for the party, which would have a Winter Wonderland theme. She decided that it would be a good idea to spice up the party by adding our big lighting package, which ended up taking the party to the next level. Upon being provided a song list with Tia’s favorite songs, I was fully prepared to rock out this Sweet 16.

Sweet Sixteen

When we arrived at The Manor House at Commonwealth that day, we saw all the decorations that had been made by Tia’s friends and family. I knew I was in for an epic party, so we just went about setting everything up in preparation. Now at Cutting Edge Entertainment, myself and my fellow DJs don’t just play music, but instead we mix music back to back and beat to beat. This is in order to keep the energy up through the entirety of the party. I’ve spent a long time perfecting the craft of beat mixing, and in my opinion it’s one of the most important skills a DJ can have. The lights looked awesome at the Manor House, creating a high-energy, festive atmosphere, and we were able to spotlight our birthday girl as she had a special dance with her proud father. Tia and her friends spent the night on the dance floor having a great time.

Thank you to Amy and the entire staff at The Manor House at Commonwealth, who did a great job as they usually do. I’ve worked at the Manor House many times in the past, and we make a great team. They’re very friendly and they did a fantastic job accommodating Tia and all of her guests. Oh yeah, and of course the food was delicious! I also got to work with my new friend, photographer Melissa Cotter, who was kind enough to provide us with pictures from the event you see here. As you can tell by the pictures, she does great work. Thank You Melissa! Then there was the videographer, Leslie, of Conway Productions whose video you can see here as well. It was my first time ever working both Leslie and Melissa, and I look forward to working with them again in the future. Oh yeah, and before I forget there is also Zach, my lighting engineer for the night. Although Cutting Edge Entertainment is best known as a DJ entertainment company, our lighting team is one of the best around and rarely get the credit they deserve, Zach’s creativity and hard work really made a big splash. Thank You BK you’re the man!

Lastly, it was a honor to be a part of Tia’s Sweet Sixteen. Thank you to the Katzianer family, it’s great clients like you that make my job so fun.
