It probably won’t come as a surprise when I tell you that Cutting Edge Entertainment has a huge music library. But just in case you have even the slightest doubt as to the variety of music that could be played at your next party, let me assure you not to worry. After all… I would know.
One summer afternoon as I walked into the Cutting Edge Entertainment office, I noticed that there was a case of CDs waiting for me where I usually sat. Craig told me that I would need them for my newest project, downloading the entire CEE music library onto a computer.
Let’s just say that I had no idea what I was in for. After about two hours, I finished the case sitting next to me. Craig brought me out another. And when I finished that one, he brought out another, and another, and then another. Six months later, I was still downloading. Three months after that I was still downloading. Finally, about a year after popping the first CD into the disc drive of the computer now filled with endless hours of music, I was finished. Needless to say, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment.
Believe it or not, I really enjoyed this project. It was fun to listen to some of my current and all-time favorite songs and singers, including Cutting Edge Entertainment alum Justin Guarini, while the CDs were downloading. But even cooler, I got to listen to all different genres of music. I heard the songs that my parents and grandparents grew up listening to. I heard every version of the hora imaginable. And I even listened to hundreds of songs that would be perfect for entertaining your guests during the dinner portion of your wedding reception.
Cutting Edge Entertainment not only has one of the biggest music libraries in Philadelphia, but also their staff are incredibly knowledgeable about their music. Not only were they always asking me to quiz them on the names of songs, almost always getting them right, but also they were teaching me small facts and bits of information about the songs and their genres.
When it comes to meeting your music needs, look to Cutting Edge Entertainment.
This is the second blog Syd has written for us at Cutting Edge Entertainment and we are grateful for it. In 2006 Sydney single handedly ripped over 85,000 music files from CD to our office hard drive (working part-time after school) , taking us 100% digital in 2007. The contribution has been invaluable.
